Dear Friends

I have to inform you that few of you have caused more damage to the ALUMNI gathering than you might have dreamed off.

We have lost more ALUMNI this month than what we have gained last year, it might take years to remedy.

Sorry that some of you still have such a sharp memory for the events that you could not manage, deep hurts and resentments, than a sharp memory for your then friends, who in some cases you have forgotten.

It is obvious that this remembrance of the past have shaded your life and you have not overcome it as yet, even with the love of your family; and new friends.

This last onslaught of grievances shows that some ALUMNI have never grown up, since private hardship of the then and even of your actual life, should never be released in public, only to a specialist.

I find it sincerely appalled that some of you have stored email addresses for ungentlemanly use.

This is the reason that the Circular has been keeping in reserve all the names and email addresses, just in case any one would use the information to cause harm to many.

We are going to keep our policy.

Our readers can be sure that the Circular is not going to use its listing and make it accessible to general public.

We are glad to have contributed to the gathering of ALUMNI and shall keep on making efforts to reconstruct Classes 1945?, to 1985.

Since there has been a lot of garbage during the last few weeks in the system, these shall be edited in the best possible way to manage its content and eliminate the abusive words and demeaning expressions before using it in the Circular.

I am sorry that I have had to write this, but I must clarify the Circulars editorial position.

Now to the lighter side of our lives.

There is a rumour about a Mount Boys' reunion in August in Trinidad.

I believe that Salvador Coscarart or Ladislao know something.

If it were not so far and I could afford it I would love to go to Trinidad for that reunion.

Maybe Urbano, who is retired and with plenty of time on his hands for travelling around the world, will also make it.

Perhaps you, Urbano and Peter Demorvay, who are all wealthy Chavistas, can make a "recolecta" and send me the airline tickets.

What a great gesture that would be and it would be your good deed for the year.

Also Huguito C. would be very pleased with you guys and might even have a good job in his new PDVSA.

I'm only making sport since I know that the only Chavistas among you are Urbano and Pradita.

I was out of circulation the past four weeks.

I broke my rib, if you ever had broken your rib you will understand me if not then you were lucky.

Some of us Dr. Farcheg, Lic. Castro, Prof. Prada, Arq. Atela, Dr. Lipavsky, Ing Nuńes, Ing. Allum, Dr. Figuera, Urbano and Matias would have invited you (con mucho gusto) and spend three or four days in Trinidad.

Because of lack of information we stayed where we where.

I suggest we name Ladislao coordinator from Venezuela you Echeveria from USA and Richard from Trinidad and they should organize a meeting.

We should also make sure they get cash in advance for their expenses.

Each one of us will advance $20,oo.

What is your opinion ??

The reason I remember him so well is because he helped me with some English-into-Dutch translations of some of my letters to a pretty Dutch girl.

It so happened that I fell in love with a pretty little Dutch girl at the St. Joseph's Girls Academy down the hill (remember when they would come up to the Mount for our functions and dance parties?).

Anyway, ...I became pen pals with her and Rudi Polderman would help me translate my letters into Dutch because her English was a bit weak.

If I remember correctly, Rudi wasn't at the Mount for very long.

Perhaps 2-3 years at best, towards the second half of the 60's?

You are sooo correct on T&T, I was in T&T for three weeks and was so disappointed with most of the mount guys that I just gave up on them and decided to look for just close family.

Everyone was too busy as usual except for Winston Ramsahai (who was really busy because he was leaving for the USA in a couple days) and Unus Ali.

They made sure to come and take me out for lunch, dinner and spent some time together.

I think the Venezuelans have more unity and care more about the mount and fellow students.

We have decided to organise a get together here in Orlando or Miami for the guys that live in North America and who wants to attend from Trinidad is welcome to do so.

But I doubt very much we will see any of them since they are all busy trying to make money.

I hope they take it with them when they die.

I am not pointing fingers at anyone, but they know who they are.

I am sorry I did not get in contact with you, Specs, and Gabe but I was really turned off from the guys that I was so closed to at the mount and they disappointed me.

Hopefully you will circulate this letter and hope they make a change in life.

The founder and first abbot of Mt. St. Benedict is father Mayeul de Cagny and he later became a member of Saint Leo Abbey in Dade City Florida and is buried there.

They also have Saint Leo University there.

Any old boy passing through that area may want to visit his grave.

OK, so yuh want some input,

My brother was Mike Healy, attended mount 68 and 69.

Apparently got in a big fight with Copeland at the end of 68.

Used to be called Shortfoot and hung out with the Peter Quesnel crowd.

Anyone recall that fight? It was the year before I came to the Mount.

Want some real input, I wrote a short story back in the early nineties.

It is too long to put in this email and I can't find the Word file right now to attach it but it is on my web page www.timhealy.net.

The story is called In Search of Imagine...by John Lennon.

Find it after you click on the Short Stories link at the left of the home page.

In it I share a walk I had with my first love through POS and the Savanna to 160 Belmont Circ. Rd. where she lived. The story is fiction. In it I take liberties with events that actually happened.

Any of you remember these events? Remember her real name? Anyone wants to contribute their recollections of the events?

I wrote this story and a few others as a healing exercise during my divorce in late 80's and early 90's.

For those who do not know me English is my third language after Dutch and Taki-Taki.

The story has not been edited. Any support in editing will be welcomed.

As a security note: the most traumatic event I had at Mount was going back four years after graduating and finding that the view from White Stones was stolen from me by some idiots that planted Pine trees (so feel free to critique).

I would pay big money to be able to sit up there today as it was 30 years ago.

God, it was so beautiful up there looking over Maracas Valley and El Tucuche always shrouded in a light blue vail and around to the Gulf of Paria.

I remember running from the top of White Stones and dipping down the steep incline at full speed so that all I could do to keep my balance was to let go until the razor grass stopped me where it levelled off and I'd lay there, looking up, high on adrenaline, feeling like a cobo that just made his first flight.

Meh hole body would be all cut-up and burning. But the biggest cut-up would be the smile on my face.

I remember some week-ends we had off I would stay up and spend the whole week-end in the bush by myself.

I would wake up and do Vespers with the priests at 4AM. I have been blessed.

And Skippy, Poggy, Pig and me, liming at Sabina in St James... but that's for another day.

Guys I love everything you do in this forum and Circulars, I appreciate your efforts.

I cannot contribute regularly but will do so more often.

I remember when we heard this big bang and a tree fell down somewhere out here, we thought one of you guys were dead.

When I came to Halifax in 1975, Ian Alphonso was here and Roger Farrah, and Hudson and other boys from Trinidad, we all came up to Saint Mary's University, I lived there for 3 years, best time of my late teens, did the same things played music, party all week Ian Alphonso / always 2 classes ahead of his peers, he lives in Canada, Toronto not sure, but Hudson could find him.

He got married to a girl from Nova Scotia.

Yeah his father was one of Eric Williams doctors right. (Professor fate) Hudson and Ian was here before me, Hudson got in right after mount.

Ian would be kissing his girl friend, he would be half drunk and still beat me at chess.

I took my game serious. ha ha G#2 I think Jon was right be careful of who we cc. ing to.

I was talking to another brother and it seems to me on that last forum it must had about 100 people reading our personal chats from all over the world. that was not on the list, words from the wise ones before us.

You hit the right note as the only thing I can play OK on the guitar is the minor pentatonic. Three Kings---you missed uncle BB. ---- Albert was the one string man and they all copied your partner Freddy. One of them was a Booker T @ MG's but I cannot remember which. The only white-man is Clapton and the only black man that sounds white is Cray. Smile.

As for the Den-Man that would be Tim. The forestry commission still looking for him for wrecking the environment. And you were the king of mischief. Secret places in our own back-yard. Imagine if they had a hardware store close by. I was probably the biggest burglar when it came to potassium nitrate, sulphur and carbon.

As soon as Kitty ( the Queen of Mount most loving Lady) turned her back the bottle of oxygen maker was gone.

Learned to blow a tree in two from Ian "Professor Fate".

I turned them into perfect lean-up-on trees in one bang.

The thing I enjoyed most was the cook-ups of stolen grub from Mrs Tardeaer.

It was good times and my education suffered as a result.

I had to go back to High school in Florida at 27 years old before I could be accepted into College.

The only GCE I passed at Mt. was English.

He also was the director of the Abbey Choral, wasn't he? I remember him waving his arms while directing

Holy Cow! I didn't know anything abut this atomic cloud from the french test...

Where was it done? I am guessing maybe this test was done near French Guiana and the trade winds blew it over ?

(However I thought all French nuclear tests were done in French Polynesia in the South Pacific.)

I guess we all got a dose of radiation then because we were all there that year, right....?

Afgelopen zondag werd ik gehonoreerd door het instituut waarvan ik indertijd met mijn zilveren priesterjubileum die grote cake had gekregen. Hierbij enkele foto's met de cake die ik bij deze gelegenheid (het zilveren jubileum van het instituut) ook meekreeg. Jammer genoeg heb ik vanmorgen de onderscheiding in gruzelementen laten vallen. Ik wou het in een winkeltas doen, maar daar zat een groot gat in. Als ik het laat weten (maar daar schaam ik me een beetje voor) dan zullen ze wel een vervanging geven. Last Sunday I was honoured by the institute of which I got at my silver preast jubileum a big cake. Hereby some photo's of the cake which I got by this occasion (the silver jubileum of the institute). Pity enough I dropped this morning the honourablia in many pieces. I wanted to do it in a shopping bag, but it had a big hole. If I let them know (but I feel ashamed to do it) maybe they will give a replacement. Most warm greetings to everyone, may Santa Claus memorise everyone well, and all the best with preparations for Xmas and New Year and see you. Hennie.

Hi Jimmy,

It’s good to hear from you, man.

I am still here in Halifax, Pam and I got married in 1977 and we are still here we have three kids, Kelly 25, Sophia 23 and John 17, Pam is still with the bank of montreal, she could retire any time.

I also was with the bank of montreal cheque processing imaging etc. for about 20yrs. then I got a package which was really good and my pension etc.

I got the same job with cibc and national bank, the operation is smaller and more personal, and I really enjoy what I do,

I'm slim as always was, still smoking cigs. not good however my health is good.

I still play guitar any kind of guitar really and any kind of style.

I played in bands on the weekends for many years in the clubs here in Nova Scotia, then it was fun then it became like a job so I stop playing in bands, but I'm always going to some jam.

Jimmy its good to hear your father has turned over the operations to you, I guess you must be have your head on well, to be in Trinidad taking care of any kind of business is a challenge.

I don't know if you know but my father passed away last year.

We still have the building on Piccadilly street its leased out.

I speak with Arron Samaroo some times he is in Toronto he and my father was very good friends.

He sold his building in P.O.S.

Sorry to hear about Pascal eh man, we had so many good times hanging out in cascade with you guys.

How are your sisters I remember them so well but it must be 30 years now.

I also remember your mum she was always kind to us, remember you would have all your swimming medals on the floor in your room.

Remember Suriname?? That was the wild days.

Jimmy Alan Juman use to call me a few years ago from Hamilton Canada, I think they had a factory there, but I stopped hearing from him, and don't know what happened to him, is he back in Trinidad??

Man I'm always coming to Trinidad but some how I end up on a beach in Cuba or Dominican Republic, but I have to make a trip to Trinidad next year.

So, yuh married, single, gay, have kids what the hell going on man ??

Hudson is a bank manager with the Royal, his wife is also a loans manager with the Royal, his son also work with Royal,

Every body is well, Hudson see plenty people in Toronto and he goes to Trinidad all the time.

Man, here in Nova Scotia if I see a Trinidadian they come here by accident.

Well i am here in Trini, trying to survive, my father has retired and i am now running the show,

i run a racing pool in Curepe, Sams Racing Service.

Good business, the only problem is the people, i am tired of dealing with ignorant assholes, crime here is getting worse, the people don’t want to work, only party.

I was living in Florida for a few years till my father wanted me to come and help him,

now he is living in Florida, all my sisters and family.

i am here just working and taking care of everybody.

Dear Ladislao,

You are doing such an excellent job with the circulars it will be sad if you are not in charge of things or pass it on,

I think you need some more help of course. I cannot help with the web page, but I will be glad to put money in the pot, if you needed to hire someone part time, to help with the photos, circular input, whatever but you should be back at that happy zone where the hobby does not become a full time job right, I think that is what i got from this June 2007. No.292 circular.

We love you man, god bless Glen McKoy.....Its summer time in Nova Scotia so I have to get some sun, so I am not on the computer much , and then September comes and its cold again.

I hope to meet you one of these days, my father has a building in Port-of-Spain, of which I am part owner so I will have to visit Trinidad some time this year or next year, my mother and sister is in Trinidad visiting.

I was just speaking to Wayne Hackett in Miami, he was heading go work, he's still playing pan on the weekends, I understand he is a very good pan player.

On the mount Wayne played drums with us, for those of you who were at the World Jamboree in Barbados when we played there representing Trinidad.

Anyhow good to hear from Wayne this is his phone number in Miami (954-732-4797)

I guess we will have to organize a jam in Miami with the amount of old boy there. I gave him my email, when I get his I will send it on.

Hello to everyone,

I was so glad to read the minutes and to see the planning in progress. I am going to copy this to Ladislao with the minutes. There is nothing confidential in the minutes, so I hope you will agree that they should be sent to Ladislao to publish in one of his Circulars.

It was good to meet so many "old boys" in October. I hope that the planning goes well.

I am really writing because I have a suggestion. You may want to consider hiring a professional event planner for the Reunion Dinner. A few dollars added to the tickets will be well worth the reduction in harassment to the few of you who will otherwise have to do all the planning. Besides, there are professionals who do this for a living, and it is not so difficult for them as it is for us. You may even be able to get a discount if you can offer it as an annual event.

I am looking forward to receiving the promised photos. My address is PO Box 83, Anguilla, British West Indies.

Thank you for the input.

I am sure you going to like the next Circular, one by Jon Golding.

Please remember that the Circular lives because ALUMNI like you write.

Now let´s forget the meeting, its agenda or lack of planning.

Can you give me a couple of lines on the people that went to the meeting, were there friends??, at least some that you finally met after having read their emails through the years??.

As Jon wrote and you shall read, really all that remains are friends and our wish to meet them.
The Reunion should have been focused in a different way and surely the agenda was not transmitted to a larger group of ALUMNI, there was no Agenda to be published so none was sent to the Circular.

From Don´s email, the Circular and the blog page did not exist for that layer of ALUMNI that organized the Reunion, half of those mentioned in the INVITATION are receiving the Circular, since 2003, so no excuse.

Luckily I did not attend as I am sure I would have been a total stranger to the event. I am glad that the party afterwards helped to return the happy mood.

What are your thought on the 2008 Reunion?? I would like to attend but with the aim of having a good time, and meet friends with whom I have corresponded over the years.

I must finish, I am sure that I am boring you with my journalist questioning. (I am a graduated Electronic Engineer and I hate to write)

1. I agree with Don Mitchell's points to a large extent; however an agenda for a meeting should be circulated before so persons may have a good idea as to what they will be attending. Had I (or some others) known of all the "extra curricular" charitable causes and efforts that were planned, I / they may have not attended.

2. Although attending the "committee meeting" on November 11th from 3 - 4pm. I only received the minutes via your e mail 2 days ago. That meeting was to start at 3pm and so I left home in Westmoorings at 2pm (Sunday) to get there well in time. The next two persons showed at 3.25 and 3.40 pm - by which time i realized the punctuality problem of the others who apparently all live much closer in the Tunapuna /St Augustin area. Having allocated one hour to the meeting, I left as politely as i could at 4pm.

3. I doubt very much I can be enticed to again join the commitee.

Since nobody of the official committee has an answer then I am sending this request to all Circular readers.

Maybe the names are of ALUMNI and maybe they should be included in the list of ALUMNI since the original list of the school has been lost.

Dear friends,

You must have received Circular No. 317, I need you comment as it is important to the Circular.

Can you help??? From the minutes that I have received from Don, there is going to be a revision of the list and only after consultations, the names and emails are going to be published. Well thought off!! For the same reason the Circular does not send out emails addresses.

Since the Circular has over 50% of the names of those that appear in the photos that ALUMNI sent in, we would like to send out information and requesting it to get a better insight of the reunion. Can you help?? Maybe you can FW Circular No. 317 to those that I named?
