Welcome to the Jerry Springer show ,right Glen??

We could not plan the amount of attention this is getting, even if we tried.

I think the membership just went up, I could just imagine the stories flying around Trinidad, Jon, man, I hope you keep up the good writings, I stepped in because John is from our time and Jon, I did not want you to take another slap on the other cheek, you proved to be the bigger man in the whole thing, you stayed cool and calm, are you there Jon ? or are you still in shock??

You know what I can't understand, so many people have so much to say on this, how come, it only had about what 5 writers in the whole forum.

I know this was going to come as Don, in two articles, mention mental and physical abuse, I wanted to address it at the time, but held back, Jon, you know Don, hope he don't go opening up that can of worms again.

Don have some hurt you know, I know he wants to also share it, I hope he just shares it with you Jon.

ha ha, John did state if I wanted to contact him I could phone, but I won't.

Well at least my brother Hudson is still in his good books, last I heard.

I think Hudson is coming up from Trinidad today I will have to give him a call.

Glen I hope you get some sleep for the next rounds.

I think like any group that is still in the forming stage, will have growing pains, ask Nigel, just to get a list is a huge task..Thanks again gentlemen, for all your support now and the future.

Ladislao, you don't have to say a thing but you must know what is happening, or its not official, you guys are our elders, I respect your leadership, in any major decisions, you guys have the final say, right Glen, on behalf of our group Hippies from the sixties.

Have a good day brothers,

Glen

Glen, I do not really support gambling, however all is good in moderation I guess, Hudson was 103 and my dog tag number 201.

I think, my house was Francis.

Talking about that, what kind of records did the mount keep, the dutch are good at keeping records, but the only thing is the records might be in Rome.

Would you believe I ran into one of those girls here in Ft Lauderdale.

Said she was in love with Frank Holmes.

Long black hair, sharp nails, high heels and dressed to kill.

After 1/2 hour talking in Spanish my wife said "OK the moon went out of that honey long ago." Time to go home."

What about Mr Julian and Mr Carter.

I used to slide the history book off the desk with a band and Mac would say "Leave it there it won't fall any further"

Hello/ Hola todos / my brothers / Things are slowly warming up/ How yuh doing ? Hope all is well.

Neil, that photo, is me this year, on a boat, in the arm, in the Halifax harbour, on the coast right before you hit the real ocean, The cap covering the bald head from the sun.

I'm 52 yrs old, this year, Brazilian women ripped my hair out, in expressing their passionate love, for me, when I was young, and it never grew back, no regrets, life goes on. Attila ,should like that.

Remember man, the Titanic, well this is the port that responded to the s.o.s call when the ship was sinking, every thing that was found, was brought back here to Halifax, even the bodies of the victims are buried here, lots of history.

I use to sail every summer, out of South-West cove, right across from Peggy's cove , here in Nova Scotia, for about 20 years, with my buddy father, who was, always the captain, he was like the top shrink, here in Halifax in the 60's-80's, and then he passed aways a few years ago, he was in his late 80's, Like ah father, learnt a lot from him. Lost interest in sailing, and only motor boat around now.

However, the Atlantic ocean is wild in the summer months here, it gets hot, but the ocean is still colder than Ice.

The sailing was great, not that smooth, but I loved it.

It was like Running down from White Stones ,and yuh late for Showers at Six.?

(This is only from G#1 point of view) What If ??
If I was coming to Florida, for any gathering, you guys better have a boat trip booked, for part of the day, I hope, on this long weekend event by the ocean.

Rent a place on by the ocean, a big place by the beach, close to good food, for the weekend.

Well yuh know there will be a lot of guys, from Canada that might decide to come down.

Some guys might come with wifes or who ever, would of course arrange for a motel/hotel close by.

But ,the place we rent, for that weekend. is Grand Central, Hang-Out .

Real Musicians coming, and is party time, and we go be, jamming down the place.

If Hudson come, we need to rent a good Keyboard,

If Wayne Hackett come we have real Pan,

If David Decastro(thecalypsobandit) come, yuh have a band,

If Rafael Echeverria (CheChe) comes we will have a Wicked Bass Player,

If I Glen McKoy(Guitar#1) and Glen Evelyn(Guitar#2) comes, we have two guitar players here already, and rent a drum set too, I play drums, Wayne plays drums, or a member, Kid??

Also rent a Roland Acoustic Chorus Amp/ for me to play thru( my Godin/ Nylon String Electric Acoustic) it also has a Vocals channel, if you see a good price, in Florida, I will buy, and keep it there till I come down. and who knows, who else are musicians in the group.

If all these guys come together, and of course all the limers, memories forever, yours.

Don't worry , the boys from Canada will foot a big part of the bill.

Well, we who stay in" The party house by the Sea."

Book now with CheChe/Tim/G#2.

Of Course with all the excitement of getting together, some boys might have a little to much to drink, then you have a place, to crash, call the wife say, yuh to drunk to drive, will see yuh in the morning.

The never ending Jam, All night long.

As an Imaginary member, of (the high command) The Committee, now.

We are required to have at all reunions, a escort/body guard on hand to ensure, that any committee members or members on hand are not harassed / or intimidated and nothing, prevents the event, the party, from happening as planed.

So on behalf of the committee. I am requesting Anthony Garner (Mono)to accompany me to Florida, as official of the Law here in Canada,

This committee member will feel safe to have Mono on site, for the event.

LET'S GET THE PARTY STARTED / DO AH LITTLE DANCE / SING A LITTLE SONG / GET DOWN TO FLORIDA.
Best Regards goes out to all my Brothers.

Thank you Nigel,

CheChe, I see, Mr Norman Smith might be adding some notes to the event.

We are, in the planning stage, also we got some interest from a couple of old boys in Venezuela. who coming for the lime, for sure.

Once we have an idea, of how many people are interested then we can, narrow down a compatible time frame, to work with that will be best, for all.

But don't worry, we are working on this and other pending projects.

right it Now.

We are also waiting for a major contributor, and one of the arrangers , of the event n Florida Jam, Mr Glen Evelyn (#2) To get back to the states.

If it was up to CheChe, he ready now.

My wife asked me last night what part of Florida is the event, as she was checking on ticket prices for me I don't even know the answer to where in Florida yet.

However between Tim, CheChe, G#2,G#3, Wayne Hackett, in Florida also, many boys that are in the area will jump in to help out, when arrangements are organised.

So please rest tight for the moment.

Thanking all of you in advance , you party people, who have already contacted us on the Florida Jam Session. ,their eager support, we are already receiving is amazing.

We were talking about a House or the beach, the way it was looking, if it continues like this, we might have to get a Hotel.

Please those of you who are interested, please send your names in to Rafael Echeverria (CheChe) or Tim Healy (Tarzan) or Glen Evelyn (G#2) or myself Glen McKoy(G#1)

Thank again and looking forward to your comments,

Your truely Glen McKoy. (guitar player/ keyboard player/ drummer/ backup vocals.)

Hey Stu, Norman,

A couple of Old Boys of MSB are planning to get together in Florida to have a jam session sometime in Summer.

I just thought that you might like to get involved with them, and to bring your guitars as well.

OK. I know that perhaps you all do not know one another AS YET, but hey, it might be an opportunity to get together and to enjoy some good company.

If you're interested, perhaps you can coordinate through Glen McKoy in Nova Scotia. (mckoy43glen@hotmail.com)

Hello David,

So you will be in Toronto .

Well, I will inform Hudson, Nigel and , some of the boys in Toronto, of your visit there.

It will be a prefect time for some of the boys to meet a brother, that was on the mount way before us, and a wicked musician.

David, you and Hudson will have to make contact.

Hudson are in contact with recording studios, in Toronto and very connected to Caribana people and stuff.

As like yourself Hudson and his son, also have a few songs on C.D etc.

Hudson son, Gino is very involved with the Soca Warriors club in Toronto.

David , if you get to Montreal then you are close to me, David if you want to come for a few days to Nova Scotia , you are more than welcome to stay at my house.

I know how busy things get for Caribana in Toronto.

If I can, will try to catch you in Toronto while you are there.

My mother and sister also lives there.

Thank you again for all your wonderful CDs , that you have sent me over time.

Playing only sweet notes, your truly,

Glen McKoy.

This was indeed sad news!

It seemed not that long ago I met him at mass at Assumption Church on my return to TT after 38 years abroad.

Take care of yourself.

Alfredo,

Rupert habia regresado a Trinidad.

Vamos a ver si logramos ubicarte a Rausseo.

Cordial saludo

Hi Salvador,

It has been a long time since I have had any contact with mount boys who went to school during the 6 years I spent in mount.

Actually I have had more contact with the older generation like Urbano v. Fedak who I know from the german church in caracas.

Also his brother Mathias I see often when he goes to play tennis at the Caracas Sports Club were I am a member.

I am also in touch with Pedro Castro, his brother Reinaldo, who is now working in the german church and Donald Goddard, whom I know from the time I worked in the oil industry for ten years in Maraven.

I do remember you and your mother and the hotel where we always used to stay when we went to Cumana.

I think I have only gone back once more when I took my wife to see where we use to live in Tunapuy, pasando carupano where my father was a doctor.

Let me tell you a little bit about what I have been doing since I left mount (63-69) and provide some correct information since andres larsen did not get all the information correct.

I went to St.Marys University in Halifax, Canada, for one year, since my brother had gone there.

Then I followed my brother to memorial university in newfoundland, canada, where I obtained a bachelors degree in geology.

From there I returned to Venezuela and worked in the Ministerio de Minas with Donald Goddard for about six months before I went back to Canada, Windsor, University in Windsor, Ontario.

There I did my masters degree in geology and my thesis was the study of the natural solar pond that exists in the island of grand roque in the archipelago Los Roques.

In windsor I met my wife and once I finished I left for Gottingen, Germany, where I did a Phd in Geochemistry.

I returned to Venezuela and worked one year in Intevep and nine years at Maraven.

In 1991, I left Maraven and went into the wholesale jewelry business where I continue to work.

Actually, I just came back today with my wife from New York, where we attended a jewelry show.

I have a house in boca raton and we come and go about once a month.

I have two boys, Misha (23) and Yuri (21), they are both in university in canada.

Misha is at work in Toronto studying economics and Yuri is in Carleton University in Ottawa studying computer science.

Misha played professional tennis until last year but that did not go too good.

When he was 12 he spent two years at the Niki Pilic Academy in Munich.

I will send you pictures of him with the current australian open champion Novak Djokovich.

With regards to the nazi name, that was the name given to my brother while in mount and once I got there they also called me nazi.

I think it had to do with my brother speaking german, I was not that fluent at that time. Actually my mother is german and my father ukrainian.

The Ronnie is what my mother still calls me but my real name is Myron, a common ukrainian name.

I am returning to Venezuela on the 9th and I will send you some pictures of the family once I am there.

I am glad that all is going well with you and your family.

By the way, how is your mother doing? My regards to her.

If you ever come to Florida let me know, maybe I might be here and we can get together.

All the best

Myron

Circular No 351

Newsletter for past alumni of The Abbey School, Mt. St. Benedict, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I.
Caracas, 26 July 2008 No.351
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,
Although this Circular is of interest to Classes 1968-1969, I have included it to let you know the investigative process that we spend in the interest to clarify not only names but periods during which these students spent at the Mount.
It is very sad that the ARCHIVES have been misplaced by the then authorities of The Abbey School, through mismanagement.
This is one of the “WHY” reason that lead to the demise of the School, it can happen to the best institutions, when there are no professional administrators in charge.
I personally hope that what is left of the Landmark Mount does not run the same fate, with the only hope that finally a competent administrator is placed in charge to salvage what has not been given away. (I pray to God that a successfully “retired” administrator would make himself available)

Dear Ladislao,
About Dennis Gurley #9 in the picture below I have doubts.
I made a compilation Three brothers Gurley who is who.jpg of the three class pictures. Only one if them is Dennis Gurley and they don't look the same. If in the other picture Form II 1965 is already Dennis Gurley, who is #9 below? That is why I left out the "Dennis". Maybe you can send my compilation for clarification to the Dennis Gurley from the reunion 2007 where he stands together with Richard Anderson?
# 10 has been stated by me and Attila Gyuris that he is NOT Josh Schoemaker.
This snap from the picture from Attila Gyuris is Josh Schoemaker in 1965, Attila and Andres and I were able to establish contact with him again last December.
About #15 Steve Anderson I have doubts. I think it is not him.
I got from you the picture PrepB1963noo[1].jpg from which I snapped this picture of Steve Anderson in 1963. This one I recognize as Steve Anderson and he looks different than #15 in the picture above. I also remember that the real Steve Anderson left Mount somewhere halfway. I remember he came back later in time driving his own car and boasted about it " . . . if you see the car eat road . . .". At that time he made a major impression to us with it.
I also think #15 in the picture above is not Steve Anderson because there was something going on in that class. Steve Anderson was a dominant boy even for older boys. He formed a gang with Philip Laughlin, Derek Fakoory and Gurley and they ruled the playgrounds. If you look at the class picture above, the gang-boys #7 Philip Laughlin, #9 Gurley and #12 Derek Fakoory who dominate the class are in the heart of the picture. Everybody else is gathered around them. If Steve Anderson was still there he would not accept to stand at a backward place as #15 does. He would stand up front and straight and be the boss. I think therefore Steve Anderson was not at the Mount anymore in Form II 1966 and #15 is not Steve Anderson.
About #35, I don't recognize Stanley Achong myself but Attila Gyuris stated he is Stanley Achong.
Hope I helped you out with this.
Greetings Jan Koenraadt

Dear Jan,
I am suggesting the following corrections, can you confirm.
I must confess that I have not revised your meticulous desertion but I need you to discard my annotation if I am wrong.
God Bless

Dear Ladislao,
To check out the list correctly I had to reconstruct the situation for myself with the three class pictures one from myself and two which I got from you earlier:
- 1965 Form II class with names.jpg
- 63UN0001CLASS1968 Prep B 1968-jk.jpg
- The Abbey School Form II 1966 from Rosero CAPTIONED-jk.jpg
For good order I attach these pictures because I completed or rewrote the names with comments or remarks from emails I received before.
I tried to reconstruct the names of Prep B 1962- 1963 in attached Word doc Reconstructing names Prep B 1962-1963.doc
To show how I got the names of my attached class picture 1965 Form II class with names.jpg I made a scan of the backside of that picture 1965 Form II class with names back side.jpg where I wrote the names from memory somewhere around 1971.
In attached Excel file Reconstruction Form V 1969.xls I made a sort of database who was in what year in which form all based on comments from others I received by earlier email. Now it is just a matter of I believe proper guessing in this Excel file who was exactly in Form V between September 1968 - July 1969.
I made some comments on the list in Word CLASS 1969 names from xls.doc but Form II is missing why the sequence is not right. That's why I made the Excel spreadsheet.
This is all meant for the attempt to reconstruct the boys who were in class Form V graduating July 1969.
Greetings from Jan Koenraadt

Dear Attila,
I am very pleased to receive from you such a clear picture of you and Josh Shoemaker. It solves the discussion who he really is, as he was spotted on other pictures by some while others call that it is not him. The picture you send of you at the pool in with a cap on, I recognise the boy on the right of you (closest to the camera) indeed as Josh Shoemaker. Because he also spoke Dutch he was my closest friend in my first two years.
About reconstructing the list of names of the class Form V 1968-1969, I left the Abbey School in the summer of 1967, so I cannot be of much help. Except that four names in your list were students in my class from 1963-1967, namely
3) Lindsay Moffat
4) Paul Quesnel
10) Charles Devaux
11) Douglas Watson
This could only be possible if they failed exams in summer 1967 or 1968 and stayed behind one year.
Apart from you and Josh Schoemaker I also remember 12) Phillip Laughlin as being one class lower than me.
Not in your list below, also Derek Fakoory, Steve Anderson, Edgehill (nickname "hot ...."), Dennis Girley were one class below me, so if they didn't fail their exams or left Mount earlier, they were in class 1968-1969.
Hope this will help you,
Much greetings Jan Koenraadt

Andres, Specs and all:
No doubt about the dates of the 1963-1968 class snapshot, however...
It is interesting to note that some (but not all, as some didn't finish at the Mount), of these boys ended in Form V with me in school year 1968-1969.
So, I wonder if it should be the class of 1963-1969?
On another note,
I wonder if anybody (perhaps Fr. Cuthbert) have a picture or at least an old list of names for the 1968-1969 Form V class?
Maybe we could come together and make up the list? I think it would an interesting little project. Some of those boys in these early class pictures made it to all the way to Form V, others dropped out, and other boys enrolled in school later.
OK, I will start with some names, (as memory serves me):
Please, everybody, add names to the list , or correct the list as necessary....
1968-1969 Form V Class:
1) Andres Larsen
2) Attila Gyuris
3) Lindsay Moffat
4) Paul Quesnel,
5) Josh Schoemacher
6) Stanley Achong
7) Fulvio Cantore
8) Michael D'Ornellas
9) Roberto Mezzana
10) Charles Devaux
11) Douglas Watson
12) Phillip Laughlin
13) Charles Devaux
who else?????
Cheers,
Attila Gyuris

Dear Ladislao,
Small observation there for you: 8 and 11 can´t both simultaneously be Paul Quesnel, besides both chaps definitely look different from each other.
I still firmly believe 17 is Michael D´Ornellas (alias "Specs") but without his trademark spectacles squinting into the camera.
I don´t recall exactly if Michael D´Ornellas was in the Class of 1963-1968 but that both you and Michael have a better grip on than me. I always thought Specs was in our Class of 1964-1969, but then again I might be wrong on that one.
When are you posting the snapshots taken by Brother Felix at our dinner November 22th?
Probably us few participants, including you, Father Rupert, Brother Felix, Myron Lew, alias "Nazi" and wife, and me, are looking forward to that issue.
Kind regards
Andrés Larsen

Dear Ladislao,
I recognise several names in your table who were with me in my class between 1963-1967.
I entered MSB in September 1963 starting fresh in Form I.
To me Form I was from September 1963 – July 1964.
I know that before my time the school year was from January to December as my elder brothers followed that course.
But I don’t know exactly in what year the change was to September-July.
I have a mail from Nigel Boos that he graduated Form V in December 1960.
So the change must be between December 1960 and September 1963.
These names of the boys above I don’t remember or recognize, except
Echeverria, Rafael
I know him, he was an older boy to me in a higher class. He indeed could be Class graduating 1967 or earlier, but I am not sure. In the picture below of Class1967 #1 comes closest to him, but I am not sure. From Sep 1963-Jul 1964 he indeed must have been in at least Form II.
Thomas, Larry
I know him, he was an older boy to me in a higher class. He indeed could be Class graduating 1967 or earlier, but I am not sure. In the picture below of Class1967 #14 comes closest to him but not so young, I am not sure. I remember him taller and 25% fatter. From Sep 1963-Jul 1964 he indeed must have been in at least Form II. His kid-brother Richard was in my class. I went one weekend with them to their parent’s home in Trinidad, and to the movie A Fanatstic Voyage in a theatre in Port of Spain.
Fr. Theo Kloeg
I know him. I believe he arrived at MSB in the middle of 1966. According to Attila Gyuris he left MSB in 1968. There are recent comments on him from me, Attila Gyuris and Oscar Cantore. As I read these comments about father Theo, he indeed accomplished a revolution at MSB. Can you imagine a whole school of girls visiting the Abbey School and dancing with the boys on the basketball court of the Abbey School?
About the boys in Prep A Sep 1962 – Jul 1963 there is a class picture 63UN0001CLASS1968 Prep A.jpg
About the boys in Form II Sep 1964 – Jul 1965 there is a class picture 65UN0001CLASS1968 Form II.jpg

Sorry for the delay, but I am remodelling my home and it is getting rough for me to stay upto date.
