Hi Jimmy,

It’s good to hear from you, man.

I am still here in Halifax, Pam and I got married in 1977 and we are still here we have three kids, Kelly 25, Sophia 23 and John 17, Pam is still with the bank of montreal, she could retire any time.

I also was with the bank of montreal cheque processing imaging etc. for about 20yrs. then I got a package which was really good and my pension etc.

I got the same job with cibc and national bank, the operation is smaller and more personal, and I really enjoy what I do,

I'm slim as always was, still smoking cigs. not good however my health is good.

I still play guitar any kind of guitar really and any kind of style.

I played in bands on the weekends for many years in the clubs here in Nova Scotia, then it was fun then it became like a job so I stop playing in bands, but I'm always going to some jam.

Jimmy its good to hear your father has turned over the operations to you, I guess you must be have your head on well, to be in Trinidad taking care of any kind of business is a challenge.

I don't know if you know but my father passed away last year.

We still have the building on Piccadilly street its leased out.

I speak with Arron Samaroo some times he is in Toronto he and my father was very good friends.

He sold his building in P.O.S.

Sorry to hear about Pascal eh man, we had so many good times hanging out in cascade with you guys.

How are your sisters I remember them so well but it must be 30 years now.

I also remember your mum she was always kind to us, remember you would have all your swimming medals on the floor in your room.

Remember Suriname?? That was the wild days.

Jimmy Alan Juman use to call me a few years ago from Hamilton Canada, I think they had a factory there, but I stopped hearing from him, and don't know what happened to him, is he back in Trinidad??

Man I'm always coming to Trinidad but some how I end up on a beach in Cuba or Dominican Republic, but I have to make a trip to Trinidad next year.

So, yuh married, single, gay, have kids what the hell going on man ??

Hudson is a bank manager with the Royal, his wife is also a loans manager with the Royal, his son also work with Royal,

Every body is well, Hudson see plenty people in Toronto and he goes to Trinidad all the time.

Man, here in Nova Scotia if I see a Trinidadian they come here by accident.

I will cc. this email to some of the old boys so they too can contact you.

Come and visit, Take care best of the season to your and your family.

Hi Glen,

It’s been a very long time. Got your address from Neil. HOW ARE YOU MAN ?

Still playing the guitar, i remember you were very gifted in that area.

Well i am here in Trini, trying to survive, my father has retired and i am now running the show,

i run a racing pool in Curepe, Sams Racing Service.

Good business, the only problem is the people, i am tired of dealing with ignorant assholes, crime here is getting worse, the people don’t want to work, only party.

I was living in Florida for a few years till my father wanted me to come and help him,

now he is living in Florida, all my sisters and family.

i am here just working and taking care of everybody.

So what are you doing with yourself?

How is Hudson and the rest of the family? Say hi for me.

Take care of yourself, all the best, hope to hear from you soon, later Jimmy.

Dear Ladislao,

You are doing such an excellent job with the circulars it will be sad if you are not in charge of things or pass it on,

I think you need some more help of course. I cannot help with the web page, but I will be glad to put money in the pot, if you needed to hire someone part time, to help with the photos, circular input, whatever but you should be back at that happy zone where the hobby does not become a full time job right, I think that is what i got from this June 2007. No.292 circular.

We love you man, god bless Glen McKoy.....Its summer time in Nova Scotia so I have to get some sun, so I am not on the computer much , and then September comes and its cold again.

I hope to meet you one of these days, my father has a building in Port-of-Spain, of which I am part owner so I will have to visit Trinidad some time this year or next year, my mother and sister is in Trinidad visiting.

bye for now.

I was just speaking to Wayne Hackett in Miami, he was heading go work, he's still playing pan on the weekends, I understand he is a very good pan player.

On the mount Wayne played drums with us, for those of you who were at the World Jamboree in Barbados when we played there representing Trinidad.

Anyhow good to hear from Wayne this is his phone number in Miami (954-732-4797)

I guess we will have to organize a jam in Miami with the amount of old boy there. I gave him my email, when I get his I will send it on.

Best of the season to all,

Hello to everyone,

I was so glad to read the minutes and to see the planning in progress. I am going to copy this to Ladislao with the minutes. There is nothing confidential in the minutes, so I hope you will agree that they should be sent to Ladislao to publish in one of his Circulars.

It was good to meet so many "old boys" in October. I hope that the planning goes well.

I am really writing because I have a suggestion. You may want to consider hiring a professional event planner for the Reunion Dinner. A few dollars added to the tickets will be well worth the reduction in harassment to the few of you who will otherwise have to do all the planning. Besides, there are professionals who do this for a living, and it is not so difficult for them as it is for us. You may even be able to get a discount if you can offer it as an annual event.

I am looking forward to receiving the promised photos. My address is PO Box 83, Anguilla, British West Indies.

Keep well.

Don

Dear Stuart,

Thank you for the input.

I am sure you going to like the next Circular, one by Jon Golding.

Please remember that the Circular lives because ALUMNI like you write.

Now let´s forget the meeting, its agenda or lack of planning.

Can you give me a couple of lines on the people that went to the meeting, were there friends??, at least some that you finally met after having read their emails through the years??.

As Jon wrote and you shall read, really all that remains are friends and our wish to meet them.
The Reunion should have been focused in a different way and surely the agenda was not transmitted to a larger group of ALUMNI, there was no Agenda to be published so none was sent to the Circular.

From Don´s email, the Circular and the blog page did not exist for that layer of ALUMNI that organized the Reunion, half of those mentioned in the INVITATION are receiving the Circular, since 2003, so no excuse.

Luckily I did not attend as I am sure I would have been a total stranger to the event. I am glad that the party afterwards helped to return the happy mood.

What are your thought on the 2008 Reunion?? I would like to attend but with the aim of having a good time, and meet friends with whom I have corresponded over the years.

I must finish, I am sure that I am boring you with my journalist questioning. (I am a graduated Electronic Engineer and I hate to write)

God Bless

Hi Ladislao,

1. I agree with Don Mitchell's points to a large extent; however an agenda for a meeting should be circulated before so persons may have a good idea as to what they will be attending. Had I (or some others) known of all the "extra curricular" charitable causes and efforts that were planned, I / they may have not attended.

2. Although attending the "committee meeting" on November 11th from 3 - 4pm. I only received the minutes via your e mail 2 days ago. That meeting was to start at 3pm and so I left home in Westmoorings at 2pm (Sunday) to get there well in time. The next two persons showed at 3.25 and 3.40 pm - by which time i realized the punctuality problem of the others who apparently all live much closer in the Tunapuna /St Augustin area. Having allocated one hour to the meeting, I left as politely as i could at 4pm.

3. I doubt very much I can be enticed to again join the commitee.

Regards

Stuart Henderson

Since nobody of the official committee has an answer then I am sending this request to all Circular readers.

Maybe the names are of ALUMNI and maybe they should be included in the list of ALUMNI since the original list of the school has been lost.

Dear friends,

You must have received Circular No. 317, I need you comment as it is important to the Circular.

The following appear in the list of donors together with your name.

Are these ALUMNI, as you know I am after all alumni so they do not get lost in the oblivium. (black hole)

I am sure that the names with *** is because the bursar just did not know the right spelling, can you mend?

W Ki*****

G Ler***

Rory Pasea

Zepheryn Robinson

Rangi Persad

Gabriel Farier

Can you help??? From the minutes that I have received from Don, there is going to be a revision of the list and only after consultations, the names and emails are going to be published. Well thought off!! For the same reason the Circular does not send out emails addresses.

Since the Circular has over 50% of the names of those that appear in the photos that ALUMNI sent in, we would like to send out information and requesting it to get a better insight of the reunion. Can you help?? Maybe you can FW Circular No. 317 to those that I named?

God Bless

Ladislao

This Circular is being sent ahead of time because during this carnival we stayed at home, while we let the rest of the people leave the city, about 2 million.

Hi Tony,

Anguilla is a 36 sq mile British Colony off the northern coast of St Maarten.

We are west of Antigua and east of the British Virgin Islands.

We used to be a part of St Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla.

We seceded in an armed revolution in 1967.

Grenada was not the first, as they like to claim.

Our rebel flag was the Union Jack, and we forced the British to take us back.

We are their last reluctantly acquired colony.

I had an Anguillian grandfather, so it was not difficult moving here. Plenty cousins.

My mum has retired to Anguilla as well. My dad died in Jamaica in 1973.

We did live there for a few years in the 1960s and again in the 1970s.

My brother Gordon is alive and well in Trinidad.

He studied mechanical engineering in Scotland, but has made a living as a building contractor all his life.

He presently lives between Tobago where he has most of his contracts and Trinidad where he lives. The home is in Cascade.

Fr Augustine has been blind for the past several years, and Fr Benedict is very frail.

Only Fr Cuthbert is hardly changed, but he is much thinner and balder.

In case you did not see the photos of us getting together last month, they can be viewed or downloaded at http://www.winkflash.com/photo/photozoom_public.aspx?m=201881015&ic=4886368&u=idmitch&p=1

The plan is to have a major reunion around 19 April next year 2008.

It is the national holiday weekend for Venezuela, and we hope that some of the "kids" from Venezuela will be able to make it this time.

There is a committee that was elected to do the planning for it.

I am doing a little teaching now that I am retired.

Nothing as intense as your experience was.

I do two hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

It is A-Level Law and only six students in the class, so it is hardly demanding.

I also do a legal aid clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, which is not very demanding.

Very few clients attend the legal aid clinic, mainly old clients of mine and a few wealthy old biddies who refuse to go and see a real lawyer.

I had thought of calling it the Anguilla Legal Aid Service and Anguilla Legal Aid Clinic.

Then I would have been able to shorten it to "Alas and Alac!" Maggie talked me out of it. She did not think people would be amused.

Not having had any children, Maggie and I were able to retire at the age of 51.

I was determined to be the only baby in my family! It worked.

Very few continuing responsibilities.

My big concern and worry at the moment is a threatened libel action by all of the Ministers of Government.

I got a little exuberant in one of my posts, and described them all as being corrupt when I should have known better.

Keep well.

Don

PS: I'm copying this to Ladislao in case you have not been in touch with him.

Hi Don,

Thanks for responding to my note to you.

It was good hearing from you.

I only wish that I could retire and just enjoy playing golf etc but it is only a dream as I am sure I will be on the ‘labour line’ until at least 65. Only 4 more years.

By the way. Where is Anguilla . I thought that you were from Jamaica .

With all the geography that Fr. Benedict drilled in us, I should know, but with so many countries changing names ‘to protect the innocent’, who knows.

Also, did you not have a younger brother? What news of him.

My older brother Mac [James] is in Houston and Peter, my younger brother is in Africa and has been there on and of for the last 5-6 years.

He was with a company that built a pipe line from Cameroon to the coast, going through Chad to reach the ocean.

For years they lived in the forest in camps along the way.

He brought back such fantastic pictures and stories of his adventure that he had us all in amazement for hours.

The term ‘head hunter’ came to a new meaning.

Imagine having to relay on an 18 wheeler to bring in fresh water a distance of 1000 miles. They transported it on flat beds in large rubber bladders.

Camping anyone?

What news of the next reunion.

Is it next year 2008, and is there any plans for another.

Every year or every 5 years.

The reason is that we are going to my 40 year reunion at my college in June 2008 and would not be able to take another week off as I am now starting with a new company next week.

It would be nice to come back to Trinidad as I have so many family members there. Marcia and I went back to Trin for our 25th weeding anniversary and of course went to the mount.

We saw Fr. Augustine [rug head] and had lunch with him

Unfortunately all the others were in some sort of retreat or meeting that we could not see them.
He is now quite a chef. He gave us a sample of his cooking, guava jam, and I must say that it was the best I had eaten for years.

He gave us a bottle to take back with us and I made it last as long as possible.

Apparently, he makes jams and jelly of many of the local fruits of the island.

But I guess you know that.

I even convinced Marcia to take a walk along the path as far as the bridge.

Unfortunately she could not make it any further.

It sure did bring back many memories of running through the woods playing cowboys and Indians.

If I am not mistaken, you were part of that group, or am I just imagining it?

You asked about my career.

After college I taught school for 7 years and retired after I was assaulted by one of the students because I caught him in the school after hours and had to put him out.

Even the police had to be called and to make a long story short, I told my principal that I was not hired as a police officer and as such he would need to replace me at the end of the year.

I also coached track and basketball and was fortunate enough to win several city championships in track.

I guess that is what kept me going all those years. I did have some great kids.

One of them, Larry Drew, went on to eventually play with Magic Johnson and the Loa Angeles Lakers.

On the other hand, I also had one basketball student get a life sentence for killing a cab driver for $20.00.

You can say I had both the good and the bad that society had to offer.

After my school experience I went on to sell Insurance for the next two years and then ended up in Venezuela working for my Dad until the oil boom went bust in 1983 and we came back to the States.

I then went into retail management in Tampa and have been here ever since.

Not as exciting as you, but we don’t’ have any complaints.

Must run now as I need to take care of Cody, my grandson, as his parents are at the hospital seeing the doctors and visiting his sister as they were premature and only Cody is home now.

We are hoping that Hanna comes home for Thanksgiving.

God bless and a Happy Thanksgiving to you and Maggie.

Your friend

Hello Tony,

It is good to hear from you. Since you were posted missing in action in Circular No 234, http://msbtunapuna.blogspot.com/2006/05/circular-no-234_09.html I had given up hope of hearing news about you.

Maggie and I are now retired. We decided not to have children before we got married.

Too many worries and too little time to spare. We've never regretted the decision.

I left Mount in 1964 having done Form V twice.

Since I did Form I twice as well, I guess I was at Mount for 9 years like you.

I must have gone in 1955 as well, but I always remembered it as 1957. Memory plays games.

After I left Mount, I went to London to do my A-Levels. I then went on to study law, and graduated in 1971.

I worked until 1998. My heart gave out in 1997 when I was 51 years old.

It took a while to close down everything, but we managed it.

My Dad died at 54, and his Dad died at 48. So, I did the average.

My surgeon tells me that I have to be careful around buses. It will take one running me over to kill me now.

What about you? What did you study or otherwise do with your life?

Would you believe, I still have my map of the tracks through the forests around Mount, made probably in about 1961.

Hope you can make it down to Trinidad for the big reunion we are planning for April.

Are you on Ladislao's list for the weekly Circulars now?

Keep well.

Donald, It has been such a joy reading all the news regarding our days at the mount.

I still believe that I have the distinction of having the longest ‘time spent’ at the mount.

I started in 1955 and left in 1964, as I spent another year because I was too young to go to college in the states.

Of course I had to go to another school with the same name as I Graduated from St. Benedicts College in Atchison , Kansas , which is located some 50 miles north of Kansas City .

My wife {Marcia] and I have been married for 36 years and live in Tampa , Florida .

We have three children [Joseph, Nicole, and Analisa] and seven grandchildren.

Analisa blessed us with our first grandson and another granddaughter two weeks ago.

So we now have 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson, needless to say, guess who will be spoiled rotten!

Now here is the million dollar question? Do you remember me at all? My nickname was ‘Moso’.

Why they came up with that name has been a mystery for all these years as it was short for Mussolini, the dictator from the 40’s.

I remember yours as being “box head’ but I guess that is ‘Your Honor-Box Head”.

What a distinction you have achieved and I salute you and say congratulations on your distinguished career.

I have always said that the mount did give us a very well rounded education and prepare us for life in general, even though we did not see it at the time.

I do have great memories from the mount, every thing from helping to paint the pool for the first time, the parades on the sports field, the boy scout camping trips, the soccer trips to the various local schools, to the trips to “white stones’ and the various hide outs we had in the surrounding hills.

By the way. A correction is in order as the picture that was sent out with the names.

They listed my name as James. It should be Anthony. James is my older brother who was two years ahead of me.

I would love to hear from you, and if your travels ever take you to the states, my address is 4324 S. Hubert Ave , Tampa , Florida 33611 ; 813-831-6089 home or 813-230-9811-cell. E-mail - a.seheult@verizon.net

God bless

History:

The first four Benedictine Monks of the Congregation of St. Ottilien came to Venezuela on Easter Monday, April 2, 1923.

Their purpose was to take over and to develop the Pilgrimage Shrine of St. Joseph and the home for poor children which had been started in Caracas by Father Santiago Machado, a Venezuelan diocesan priest.

This monastic settlement was raised to the rank of conventual priory on the sixteenth of June in 1947 and became an abbey on the seventh of December in 1963.

In the course of time the monks were entrusted with pastoral work in the parish of St. Benedict which had been established December 1, 1953 for the poor families which had settled in the area of the monastery.

The chief tasks of the Abbey are the spiritual ministry for the pilgrims who come to the Shrine of Saint Joseph, pastoral care in the Parish of St. Benedict and the running of a school and home for the children of poor families.

The Abbey has two dependent houses.

The first is at Camuri Chico on the coast near Caracas where the monks run a school for children and operate a farm.

The second is at El Rosal near Bogota in Colombia where the monks are in charge of a Religious Training Centre, a farm, a carpentry and metal workshop.

The community of St Joseph's Abbey, Guigue (Venezuela), has today elected Fr Otto Lohner its third abbot. Fr Otto is 64 years old.

He was professed at St. Ottilien in 1958 and has been working in Venezuela since 1966.

Up to his election he was prior and bursar of the abbey.

He has been elected for an unlimited period.

ABBOTT OTTO LOHNER PASSED AWAY COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED AT THE AGE OF 69 ON NOVEMBER 4TH, 2007.

The election took place in the wake of the resignation on the 31st of December of Abbot Jose Maria Martinez Barrera upon having completed 20 years as abbot.

Hola Ladislao,

One of the things that has left a great imprint on me from my time at Mount was constructing with Bamboo (Guadua Bambusa) and rope and cutlass (machete).

Having been a part of the construction of this campsite was an awesome experience I have talked about for years.

I have described these incredible structures in great detail.

Now with these photos I can prove it was not all in my head.

The guy that looks about to throw a stone looks like Jeremy de Barry.

That is probably his guitar hanging in front of the "upstairs" tent in the other photo.

It was maybe 1964?

It was in Trinidad... close to an incredible waterfall called Blue Basin.

I think I am the guy with the white shirt working on the second floor (the back is toward the camera, but I recognise the body position which looks identical of a foto taken of me, in my house in Medellin, when I was sitting on the floor in the same position fixing a table.

I wonder if there are more photos of this camping trip.

I am very sad that I will be unable to come to the 07 reunion.

I know that Rafael "Cheche" Echeverria will be there and I will get to see photos and news from this great blast from the past.

I look forward to being there in 08.

Un abrazo,

Norman Smith

Dear Ladislao,

I am one of the guilty ones that have been enjoying the Circular but have not written, but a couple of words to tell you so.

I was so thrilled to get a picture of "The Interpreters"

The original band with Johnny Abraham, Lead Guitar, Jeremy De Barry, Guitar, Gerard Anderson, Drums, Norman Smith, "Home made Bass Guitar" and myself Edward Watson played the bongo drums.

Che Che, Jeffery Camacho and Richard Anderson then came in some time soon after.

I remember some great sessions at Che Che’s house on Rapsey Street St Clair, Port of Spain, don't know how his parents put up with us.

I do run into "Bram" Johnny Abraham every now and again and I saw Jeffery Camacho, whom, I had not seen for years, a couple of months ago.

Lost touch with the rest of the crew, I heard Richard Anderson has a very successful landscaping business in Florida.

I also would like to make contact with the guys.

Please send out another photo of the band as the one I had was deleted in error.

My time at Mount was short but interesting and perhaps I might be remembered to you all as one of the Guys "Frankie Ambard and myself" that went awol over the hills and were brought back(recaptured ) by Edward Lloyd, great friend.

What a thing .

Well just wanted to say, great job keeping all in touch and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and God's great blessings to ALL

Hi Ladislao,

So good to see the guys and their families. Has any one been in touch with “Bram” Johnny Abraham, no email address?

Jeremy Du Barry, tobagojo@trinidad.net,

Gerard Anderson, no email address

Norman Smith, nsmith@filmsmith.net

and Myself Ed Watson the original “Interpreters”.

I always remember Norman and his “home made” Base guitar and the jam sessions and the Echeverria home on Wainwright Street in St Clair.

Greetings to Che Che and family.

Dear Ladislao,

Douglas Watson is my brother but I can’t get him to use a computer on a consistent enough basis for email.

I see Richard Clarke, Phillip de Pass in the area quite often.

Humphrey Hokoon I haven’t seen in many years he used to fly for the National Airline will try to locate him.

Haven’t seen Gerard Anderson since a couple of years after I left school. I’ll make some inquiries and get back to you.

As for the rest of guys, I don’t recognise the names.

Hi Ladislao,

The photo of Paul Tadros brings a smile to my face. What a character we called him “Extra Tooth” or “the Camel”.

I remember him in the refectory one day complaining about the food and as soon as he was let out he went to the kitchen and loudly summoned the lady in charge. Miss Sup Hoi. “I don’t mind you giving us the horse but when you throw in the saddle, I can’t handle that.

He was promptly reported and banned from refectory for two weeks. So we had to feed him with Mount Sweet drink and raisin buns.

What a character

Cheers

Dear Jean,

Thanks, I made the necessary corrections.

How about your neighbours, ALUMNI??

Can you write a two liner on each of those that leave close by your place??

Do you see them often??

I am making corrections to the listing and I do not want to miss any of them.

I lost the names of the ones that you mentioned some years back.

You never mentioned the names of your classmates that would have graduated in 1963.

God Bless and Happy New Year 2008 with lots of health

Dear Friends:

Sometimes things don't work out the way we expected.

Lack of health (" too f.... old ", as Isaias Farcheg would put it) was the main reason for my absence at the Mount Boys dinners 22/27th Nov.-

On the other hand, even though we live in the same country, when you reside here on Margarita Island, you sort of live in another country abroad, among other reasons, in this period of the year it is easier to get a flight to and from any other place, than from this island to Caracas and back.-

Nevertheless I want to congratulate you again Ladislao for the wonderful work, time and effort that you have given to this programs can be useful:

(both Old Mount Boys with whom I had dinner in Pampatar some months back) :

DAVID BAIN (who lives in Pampatar) 0416-661.61.01 ; 0414-563.17.43

BRIAN GODDARD (who came to visit) 0416- 647.99.70.

Kind regards

Roberto Lipavsky (alias "pelo") class 1958.

Ladislao,

Yes, I do get the newsletters from time to time [certainly not weekly] and appreciate the effort being made to connect old boys.

Unfortunately I have little time to read and respond to all the stuff I get by e-mail - my apologies!

You will appreciate that architects get extremely busy in a construction boom and then have to last sometimes for twenty years on the proceeds.

Since this is my last twenty I have to make the most of this boom!

It was good to hear that Peter Lauglin has done so well.

In response to Arthur Knaggs's points in this e-mail - yes Thelly enjoyed her trip and is now back in new quarters in Santa Cruz.

Best wishes to all.

Dear Ladislao,

My family and I wish you and yours a Happy and Holy Christmas and a Bright and prosperous New Year.

Many thanks for the News letters, through these I am informed of the progress of "old Boys" and those not "so old".

I access the mail while in Hamburg.

I visited Caracas very briefly in October last year to deliver a lecture at the Pedro Gual Institute under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Venezuela.

It was a two day visit filled with meetings and conferences.

A working lunch was arranged with Professor Isidro Morales Paul at his home.

I was very sad to hear of his passing-on.

At the last session of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, I was elected president of the Marine and Environmental Chamber Court for the next three years.

Cintra, my wife for 42 years and I have four daughters, two are married and live in Canada.

The other two live here in Trinidad, Cindy-Ann the eldest is a medical doctor and is currently an assistant professor in clinical medicine attached to the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

She is an emergency physician at St. Pauls Hospital Vancouver.

She is married, her husband is also a doctor and they have a daughter Isabel, who is three.

Gillian, the second is a lawyer and currently the member of Parliament for point a Pierre.

She is a member of the Opposition and was Minister of Legal Affairs when her party was in Government. Elizabeth, the third, has a degree in Industrial management and Accountancy, she is married and lives in Hamilton Canada. They have a son Matthew. He is three.

Antonia the youngest graduated with a degree in geography. (Fr.Ildfons would be happy about that). She now has a Masters degree in Environmental Management and is currently the Environmental and Safety Coordinator at the national Gas Company.

Cintra has retired from active teaching and is Chairman of one of the Secondary School boards.

I do not like to write about myself. If you wish have a look at www.itlos.org under judges you will see what I look like!.

With kind regards,

Anthony Lucky.

This Circular is being sent ahead of time because during this carnival we stayed at home, while we let the rest of the people leave the city, about 2 million.
